next blog post» February 7, 2010Europe 2009/2010So it’s been a few weeks since we got back from our big trip of 25 days on the road (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt). Those of you on Facebook have probably seen these already, but for the rest I’m putting these pix here on the blog. I just got done sorting through nearly 2,000 images and I’m uploading the top 100 to Flickr right now. I’ll post them into a slideshow in a moment. The strange thing is I think that this trip has changed the course of my life. Well, not really changed as much as much as it solidified my path of lifelong travel and exploration. People keep calling it the “trip of a lifetime” but I don’t think I see it that way. I think it’s more like the first of many big trips. I looked at the calendar yesterday and realized that Zach will be 8 next month. Which means in 10 short years he will probably be out of our house and off to college. I think we should make the best of the time we have with him. After he’s done with college I’m thinking of living in Paris for a year. That city sucked me in and won’t let go of me, don’t get me started on the greatest falafel restaurant in the world just blocks from Notre Dame. In the meanwhile, We’re going to try to see (and eat) as many things we can in this world. Where to next? I’ve got ideas : New Zealand, Peru, Argentina, Hawaii, Thailand, Romania and Russia to name a few.
